How to Hide the X "For You" Timeline
SiteBlocker can hide the X "For You" tab: install it for Chrome or Firefox, open the Block List tab, and switch on the X For You section. The algorithmic timeline stops being one click away, while your Following timeline, posting and messages are untouched. It hides rather than blocks, because both tabs share one address.
What this does not do
This one hides rather than blocks. "For you" and "Following" are both x.com/home — the selected tab is held in the page, not in the address — so no rule can separate them. Hiding the tab is the most that can be done without blocking your Following timeline too.
What still works with X For You hidden
Only X For You is affected. The rest of X (Twitter) carries on as normal.
- Your Following timeline
- Posting and replying
- Direct messages
- Search, lists and bookmarks

Why people turn X For You off
- + The Following timeline is the accounts you chose. For You is the accounts an algorithm chose for you.
- + X defaults to For You, so the algorithmic feed is what you land on unless you actively switch away every time.
- + Hiding the tab makes Following the path of least resistance, which is the only lever available here.

Hiding X For You: FAQ
Does this block the For You feed on X?
No. It hides the "For you" tab so the algorithmic timeline is not one click away. Both tabs live at x.com/home and the selected one is never part of the address, so there is nothing separate to block. Your Following timeline is unaffected.
Does my Following timeline still work?
Yes. Following, posting, replies, direct messages, search, lists and bookmarks are all untouched.
Does it cover twitter.com as well as x.com?
Yes, both hosts are covered.
